“Well aimed slingshots can topple giants” ~Maggie Kuhn, Founder, Gray Panthers
Gray Panthers NYC is proud of our year-long series on nursing home reform and our award-winning documentary Honoring Nursing Home Lives Lost.
For Summer 2022, we invite you to follow our article series GRAY MATTERS, which will report about our current actions and programs.
Gray Panthers is committed to action and advocacy to combat ageism, an -ism that has only recently moved to the forefront of issues that call for solutions.
GRAY MATTERS will roar on the topic of ageism – in the workplace, in healthcare, in long-term cared, and in sports. We will continue to work with our allies on nursing home reform and fair pay for home care workers.
GRAY MATTERS is our platform for expressing our views on social justice issues. Dismantling ageism is only one of the many structural and personal -isms that need to be addressed in order to achieve a more just society. Sexism, racism, ableism, classism, sexism, and heterosexism must also be addressed vigorously.
GRAY MATTERS will allow you to learn more about our organization. Gray Panthers has a rich history dating back over half a century. The times may be different from when Maggie Kuhn founded the Gray Panthers in 1970, but the work to end ageism, along other -isms, continues. We are proud to be fully engaged in these ongoing struggles.
