As a GPNYC intern, I was able to utilize my academic knowledge, my passion and my energy to assist with projects advocating for greater protection of older persons, both locally and internationally. It was great to see the inner workings of a non-profit this summer, and to learn more about advocating for basic human rights, especially for underrepresented people.
I have always had a passion for civic engagement and advocacy. Whether I was learning about community service as a Girl Scout, serving as the President of my high school’s UNICEF club, or working to make the outdoors a more accessible space as a GW TRAiLS Guide, I continuously built my skills to further social progress. Now I’m exploring these passions as a rising junior at George Washington University studying International Affairs and German.
