The World Health Organization (WHO) has invited GPNYC to participate in a groundbreaking initiative to address ageism at a global level. This collaboration aligns with our mission to combat ageism and achieve social justice through intergenerational collaboration and activism.
Together with WHO, we will work to raise awareness, advocate for policy change, and empower individuals of all ages to challenge ageist attitudes and structures. This initiative builds on WHO’s global campaign to combat ageism and reinforces the urgency of dismantling stereotypes that limit opportunities and respect for older adults.
Please join the WHO webinar to help in launching the new WHO Ageism Scale.
This first-of-its-kind tool is a set of cross-culturally tested, validated, and reliable metrics designed to monitor ageism levels worldwide. The tool also illuminates the drivers and consequences of ageism and evaluates the impact of interventions aimed at reducing it.
